I guess this is one of several adverse effects of having great technological advances with computer hardware and software. Duplication or replication of graphics, audio, and images, can make a consumer believe that what he/she sees is ‘the real thing’, when in fact it is not. Like the use of logos, corporate colors, or wording from legitimate organizations—as was mentioned—being use as camouflage, in the likeness of legitimate businesses, to carry out unscrupulous activities. I gained a lot of knowledge about Phising, I had no clue about this type of interent fraud. I went to Bank of America's website on Privacy and read about the what they are doing to protect their customers identities. I have two accounts with them and I'm pleased with the effort. I know it's a booming place and it's one I have considered going to when having problems with my internet. Now that I know I wouldn't have access, I would use a different place. Chesterfield County Libraries also have free wireless internet. I was surprised to find out that you can even access Powhatan Libraries internet from the parking lot. It was new to me that the Richmond Airport has internet access as well. I have only been to the airport once, but I am not surprised they have that access to people. When source code is open, any developer is free to read, redistribute and modify it. This leads to faster bug fixes, improved software and lower development costs. Microsoft claims that one reason free software is of such high quality is that it violates more than 200 of it's patents. I think Microsoft should be ordered by anti-trust courts to share code with open-source software companies.
